Researchers: How To Work With Us
Advancing Research on Neuroinflammation & Infection-Associated Chronic Conditions
The Brain Inflammation Collaborative is committed to developing and managing a research-grade database designed to support both patients and researchers. Our goal is to build bridges across the healthcare and research ecosystems to drive patient-centered research, improve diagnosis, and enhance clinical education regarding neuroinflammation-related diseases. By fostering collaboration, we aim to accelerate discoveries that lead to better treatment options and improved patient outcomes.
Collaborate with Us!
The Brain Inflammation Collaborative is revolutionizing data collection by reducing patient burden, minimizing data siloing, and maximizing data usability for researchers.
- Are you studying or treating mental health conditions that may overlap with conditions associated with neuroinflammation?
- Are you interested in the neuroimmune axis and the impact it can have on mental health?
We welcome researchers, clinicians, and institutions to collaborate with us in advancing the study of neuroinflammation and related disorders. Through data sharing, clinical partnerships, and participation in multi-condition research, we can accelerate discoveries and improve care for millions of patients.
Bridging Gaps in Neuroinflammation Research
The Brain Inflammation Collaborative plays a critical role in the broader scientific effort to improve children and women’s mental and physical health by addressing diseases that contribute to neuroinflammation.
Historically, conditions like Long COVID, chronic Lyme, and autoimmune diseases have been studied in isolation. However, these conditions share overlapping symptoms, treatment responses, and underlying inflammatory and immune dysfunctions.
Our approach complements the work of single-condition advocacy groups by fostering a collective research framework that spans 30+ related diseases. Through our digital health platform, patients from diverse backgrounds can contribute valuable data, allowing for large-scale, cross-disease comparisons that traditional studies often lack.

Expanding the Scope of Neuropsychiatric Research
Although some neuropsychiatric disorders included in our study may not be strictly neuroinflammatory, they are essential to our research for three key reasons:
- Observable Symptom Overlap – Many neuropsychiatric conditions exhibit significant similarities with neuroinflammatory syndromes.
- Diagnostic Uncertainty – Many of these conditions remain poorly defined, and distinguishing neuroinflammatory vs. non-inflammatory subtypes is crucial.
- Data-Driven Classification – By collecting and analyzing robust patient-reported data, we aim to refine diagnostic criteria and improve classification of these disorders.
